There are a lot of beat making software out there these days.
Fruity loops, Logic Pro, Reason, Propellerhead, and now DubTurbo. I've
had a studio for about 4 or 5 years now, and let me tell you, my wallet
has been drained like crazy so many times. I was talking to one of my
friends that is a hip-hop artist, and who I produce for, and we always
get into these conversations about how even though technology has made
it affordable to actually have studios in your own homes now, there's
still that expensive software that really makes people like us keep
dreaming about certain equipment. We have conversations like that all
the time.
One of my specialties is beat making, I sell beats here and there on soundclick, promote them on MySpace, Facebook, wherever. I don't make hardly any money at all doing this, mainly because my promotion skills are not up to par, and I don't have money to spend on buying the information on how to do it the most effective way. Recently, I've had a hard time with beat making techniques and softwares, which is what I thought would help my promotions out if I started actually making hot beats! I've got my Yamaha Motif 8, my mac, and my logic pro which is what I usually use to make beats. It all comes out pretty well using those, but it takes so much time, not to mention how much time it took learning HOW to use all that equipment!
This world is big, and there's a lot of stuff out there, and obviously there's a lot of stuff out there we don't know about. Now what we don't know is, a lot of those things can actually benefit us, but we just have to take the time to look for it. With the internet, it makes it possible.
I was searching for a long time before I finally found something that actually caught my eye, a beat making software for, what, $29.95?! The first thing I thought was, "Wow this is either a scam or some piece of junk software". I did some research on it, looked around the website, and I have to say, I was intrigued. Not only because of the look of it, but because of the price, I mean, even If the software was a piece of crap it's not like I spend 3 digits on it, right?
So yes, I purchased the software and I have to say I was quite pleased. All in all the navigation, the controls on it, and even the interface was exceptionally well advanced and even looks better than top level beat making programs such as Fruity loops and Logic Pro. The beat making was easy, the interface allows even novice users to know what they're doing, and it really rivals those top $300 softwares.
So now, not only do I use my motif, my mac and logic pro, but I've got a new tool, that works for MAC and PC, and I've been making beats with it for about 2 months now, and I've actually sold 5 beats, which I never did when I first started out with my previous equipment.
Overall I give this software a 10/10
